It seems like every month, there are new skincare products hitting the shelves. So, today I’m sharing my latest clean skincare favorites. Let’s face it. It can be a little overwhelming to wade through it all at Ulta and Sephora, even Target! Today’s skincare landscape is filled with not just the brands you may recognize from advertising campaigns, but all kinds of indie brands you’ve never heard of.
I don’t cover skincare products often here on the blog. I’m usually working on a DIY project, or I’m out in the garden, or cooking and baking away. On a maintenance scale with ten being the highest, I’d rate myself a five. I get my hair cut and colored professionally. My nails always look nice. But I’ve never had fillers and I don’t have the time or desire for a ten-step skincare routine. I believe in keeping it simple when it comes to skincare.
How To Choose Clean Skincare Products
I am a firm believer in simple, clean ingredient skincare. If you’re just getting started with clean products, I encourage you to go here first.
Even though there are plenty of products I purchase on repeat, like this Biossance eye cream, I also like to try out new ones. To stay in check with my budget, I only buy new products when I run out. I squeeze every last drop out of those tubes and bottles! Clean skincare products tend to lean to be pricier, so I consider them to be indulgences and only buy them on sale or when I can get a deal.
Clean Skincare Sunscreen
When my facial sunscreen ran out, I bought this Coola classic face sunscreen on sale at Ulta to replace it. I like the fact that it’s non-greasy and doesn’t leave a white film on my skin. It’s also broad-spectrum and fragrance-free, both of which are important to me. Although it’s a fairly small tube, a little goes a long way. It’s necessary every day, but especially when I’m outside in the garden for hours!
Clean Ingredient Serum
When I ran out of my Mad Hippie vitamin C oil, I searched around for a replacement serum and found great reviews for this Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum. I have to admit, I’m impressed after just a few weeks of use. My skin feels really soft in the morning, and with the mask mandate still in effect, it’s also keeping my face clear.
Ultrasonic Cleaner
Although this isn’t really a clean skincare product, it’s definitely related. I had every intention of replacing the brush head on my Clinique ultrasonic brush. But lo and behold, they discontinued the entire device, including the brush heads, much to my dismay. At first, I was upset, but I had taken care of it and it lasted for years, so what can you do? I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a replacement. But I found this one from Flawless for a good price and I’ve been really happy with it. It has several settings and you just put your cleanser on the silicone bristles. Glide it over your face and neck for a minute, rinse your skin and the bristles, and you’re done! Once a week, I wipe off the bristles with alcohol to clean them.
